Day Treatment Program

Root + Rise is the region’s first insurance-accepting Perinatal Day Treatment program — offering the intensive, structured level of care often referred to as a Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP). Comprehensive clinical support for pregnant and postpartum parents in Rockland, MA.

Intensive Support for Your Mental Health Journey

Sometimes, weekly therapy isn’t enough. When the weight of Postpartum Depression, Anxiety, or Birth Trauma feels overwhelming, you need a safe harbor.

Root + Rise offers the region’s first independent, insurance-accepting Perinatal Day Treatment Program. Located in Rockland, MA, this program serves as a structured “village” for pregnant and postpartum individuals who require a higher level of care than standard outpatient therapy can provide.

What is Perinatal Day Treatment?

Think of this as an intensive, therapeutic retreat that you attend during the day, allowing you to return to the comfort of your home at night. It is designed to stabilize symptoms, build coping skills, and break the isolation that fuels PMADs.

Our Day Treatment Program provides the same level of structured, intensive care as a Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP). If your insurance plan covers PHP services, our team can help you understand how your benefits apply to our program.

Program Highlights:

  • Structured Clinical Support: A consistent schedule of group therapy, individual check-ins, and skills-building sessions.
  • Personalized Care Plans: Treatment tailored to address mood changes, intrusive thoughts, and the emotional demands of early parenthood.
  • Community Connection: Heal alongside a cohort of peers who truly understand the sleeplessness, the worry, and the identity shifts you are experiencing.

A Typical Day in Treatment

Our program blends hard science with holistic wellness. A day might include:

  • Check-In & Intention Setting: Grounding exercises to start the day.
  • Process Group: Clinical therapy focusing on topics like matrescence, grief, and boundary setting.
  • Skills Group: Learning CBT, DBT, or ACT tools for emotional regulation.
  • Wellness Integration: Lactation Services, Registered Dietitians, Pelvic Floor Therapy, trauma-informed yoga, nutrition education, or art therapy.

Who Is Our Day Treatment Program For?

This program is designed for those who need more support than a weekly therapy hour can provide. You might consider Day Treatment if:

  • Weekly therapy feels like a drop in the bucket: You leave your session feeling better, but the relief fades within hours.
  • You feel unsafe or unstable: You are having scary, intrusive thoughts or feel like you are “losing your mind.”
  • You are feeling overwhelmed & lonely: You spend most days alone, feeling overwhelmed by the silence and the responsibility.
  • Functioning is hard: Basic tasks like showering, eating, or getting out of the house feel like climbing a mountain.
