Our Journey
Root & Rise was born from our own stories. Women who know just how disorienting the postpartum season can be. We’ve walked it ourselves, and we’ve seen its impact up close.
We created Root & Rise: the first perinatal-focused mental health clinic in the Greater Boston area. This is a place where clinical excellence meets heart-centered care. Where healing is nurtured, growth is honored, and mothers are never left to rise alone.

We believe everyone deserves to feel seen, supported, and strengthened in the sacred transition into parenthood.
Our mission at Root & Rise Perinatal Health is to bridge the gap in maternal mental health care by supporting those who need more than weekly therapy, yet do not require inpatient treatment, offering compassionate, comprehensive, and evidence based care during the perinatal journey.
Our Approach
We combine clinical expertise with an individualized approach to understanding the emotional and psychological experiences that can arise during the perinatal period. Through comprehensive clinical assessment including validated screening tools, diagnostic interviews, and collaborative conversation for the following:
- Depression and Mood Disorders
- Anxiety, Panic, Intrusive Thoughts and Perinatal Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD)
- Adjustment Disorders and Identity Shifts in Parenthood
- Perinatal Psychosis (early identification)
- Birth and Reproductive Trauma, including Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD)
- Grief and Loss
- Parental Stress and Relationship Strain
Treatment includes evidence-based psychiatric and psychotherapeutic care, incorporating trauma-informed, holistic, and diverse therapeutic modalities. This integrative approach allows us to meet individuals where they are offering a path forward.
