OPENING FALL 2025 - Perinatal Mental Health Clinic
OPENING FALL 2025 - Perinatal Mental Health Clinic
Our team includes licensed mental health clinicians, group facilitators, and wellness practitioners trained in perinatal mental health. Every member of our team brings deep compassion, clinical excellence, and a commitment to helping families heal.
As a mother of two young children—and as a friend, woman, and wife—Lauren intimately understands the profound joys and pressures that accompany motherhood. With over 17 years of experience supporting women through life’s transitions, she has walked alongside mothers navigating a wide range of emotional, psychological, and physical challenges.
Lauren considers it a deep honor to be invited into the most tender and transformative seasons of her clients' lives. Her passion lies in helping women reconnect with their sense of worth, rediscover their purpose, and feel empowered in their mental health journey. Whether it’s postpartum changes, perinatal mental health concerns, or the weight of everyday overwhelm, Lauren’s approach is grounded in compassion, evidence-based care, and an unwavering belief in each woman’s resilience and potential.
Lauren earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Simmons University in 2008 and her Master of Science in Nursing in Adult Psychiatric/Mental Health from the MGH Institute of Health Professions in 2012. Most recently, she completed her Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) at the University of Massachusetts Boston in 2024.
She is a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner, a Certified Dementia Practitioner, and a Perinatal Mental Health Provider (PMH-C). Her clinical interests include post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), and perinatal and reproductive psychiatry.
“Can we grab lunch?” That’s how it all began. Kate, a longtime mental health professional, had an idea and reached out to Rophe, a business executive and birth worker. Over lunch, we shared our hearts and our passion for supporting women in the perinatal and postpartum seasons of life. In the months that followed, that conversation turned into a calling—and Root & Rise was born. A response to a real mental health need right here on the South Shore & Greater Boston area.
As a single mom, Kate had been taking intake calls from women searching for support. From both her personal and professional experience, she knew a one-size-fits-all program wasn’t the answer. Women in the perinatal stage need care and programming designed specifically for them.
Rophe, an experienced doula and executive, has spent years walking with women through pregnancy and birth, witnessing firsthand the gap in postpartum support when depression, anxiety, and overwhelm often hit the hardest. She knew something had to change.
Root & Rise is grew out of these experiences and desires. A space for healing. A space for support. A space to rise. Because no one should have to navigate pregnancy and postpartum alone.
At Root & Rise Perinatal, we understand that every pregnancy is unique—and so is the care it deserves. That’s why we offer personalized support tailored to your individual needs. Whether you’re seeking prenatal medication management, postpartum care, or other perinatal services, our compassionate team is here to walk with you every step of the way.
We’re committed to providing high-quality, evidence-based care in a warm and welcoming environment. Explore our website to learn more about our services and how we can support you during this transformative season.
